Some Nigerian Basket ballers in the NBA

In 2011 blogosphere was awash with the photo of stunning actress Nia Long (Best Man, Love Jones, Soul Food, Big Momma's House to name a few) spotting a baby bump while on vacation. The question on everyone's lips was,  Who the Daddy? Since it she wasn't publicly known to be dating anyone then. It was then revealed that the Daddy of Nia's baby was Nigerian – Former American Basketballer Ime Udoka . The former San Antonio Spurs player and Nia (40) had been quietly dating for 2 years. The couple released the following statement announcing the news. "This is the most exciting time in our lives. Words can't explain how thrilled we are by the new addition to our family. We feel truly blessed and appreciate all the well wishes and prayers."

Here are a few facts about Ime: Ime Udoka is Nigerian American and was born in Portland Oregon in 1977 ( making him 33). Ime Sunday Udoka  last played for the San Antonio Spurs as a forward. He was released on January 5 th , 2011.  He also had contracts with the Kings, Lakers, Knocks, among others. He went to Jefferson High School in Portland, then the University of San Francisco and then transferred to Portland State University and played for the Vikings. His pro basketball career started when he played in the NBDL with the Charleston Lowgaters. He signed with the Lakers but was waived and went to Europe to play. He was then drafted by the Forth Worth Flyers, signed with the New York Knicks, and then played with his home town team of Portland Trail Blazers. In 2007 he signed with the San Antonio Spurs, but went back to the Trail Blazers. In 2009 , he was waived and signed with the Sacramento Kings, then rejoined the Spurs but was waved again. Although he played for American teams and is American himself, since his father was born in Nigeria, he also played for the Nigerian basketball squad. He played for them in 2006 at the FIBA World Championships. This was the couple's 1st baby and Nia's second.
