The Lagos state government has commenced the evacuation of its citizens from the University of Maiduguri and by  Friday the state had moved 200 students from the violence ridden city to Yola, Adamawa State from where it started airlifting them to Lagos.
The first batch of the students that arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos were received by officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), led by the general manager, Dr Oluwafemi  Osanyintolu
According to the LASEMA boss, the evacuation of the 200 Lagos residents followed the alert raised in Maiduguri, which prompted the agency to dispatch its officials to the crisis zone, who evacuated the residents to Yola Airport, from where they are being air lifted into Lagos.
